Queens for a Cure
walk to cure arthritis
Read my story
When I was around 8 years old, I was diagnosed with Juvenile Arthritis. Although I have had my struggles with this invisible illness I have and will always be so grateful for the incredible support system I have. Not every child diagnosed has their older sister and mom diagnosed with the same illness, but I do. They have always understood any pain I felt and helped me through my diagnosis. However, not all kids are as lucky as me. To those who do not have family or friends with arthritis I will continue to recommend and represent the Arthritis Foundation.
I always say “I grew up in the Arthritis Foundation” because I truly believe me, and my sisters did. I was carried through my first jingle bell run at just one years old. I have attended many of the national conferences and been a junior ambassador since I was 13. I have traveled with them to help represent the 12,000 kids in Pennsylvania with Juvenile Arthritis on capitol hill. I proudly represent this foundation in all that I have done and all that I do. I say I grew up in it because it is a family. I met my best friend through the Arthritis Foundation.
“Queens for a Cure” is my little sisters “Walk to Cure Arthritis” Team she created to help raise money to research a cure for the 300,000 kids with juvenile arthritis, including her two older sisters. Join us! Let’s make a difference together!
